#25 Loras, 5

UWP, 0

The Pioneers and Duhawks met twice in 2012 – each winning the home contest and Loras' triumph propelling them to the Elite Eight.

This time around, the Duhawks once again played host, albeit in a regular season contest. In 2012, the score lines were each 2-1. The Tuesday after Labor Day it was a much different 5-0.

A fifteen minute stretch at the end of the first half provided the first bunch of goals for the Duhawks, two of them coming off corner kicks.

Mike Pizzello opened the scoring in the 28th minute when he headed in a Alex Bradley corner kick. Jimmy Ralph scored his first Loras goal in the same fashion on a JoJo Schmidt corner kick from the same side. Sandwiched in between was a Ben Avery goal that came after a flurry of action in front of Pioneers goalkeeper Ian Christensen. Erik Berkowitz redirected a rebound off the post to Avery, who put it over the line without much doubt.

The second half included a goal immediately following the kickoff. Tom Fluegel was on the receiving end of a Richard Lenke pass to make it 4-0 just 12 seconds into the half. Fluegel then drew the penalty kick that Pat Langan finished in the 51st minute.

Dylan Milkent made one save in his 68 minutes of work before Sean Elvert came on to close things out in goal for the team's first shutout of 2013.

Loras' win was their 18th consecutive victory in the Rock Bowl.

Ten minutes into the match, senior midfielder and co-captain Kevin Cavers was forced to leave the game with an elbow injury. He will miss this weekend's action in Wisconsin.

Loras is at the Milwaukee School of Engineering this weekend for their second straight weekend tournament, this time the Raider Invitational. The Duhawks will play Calvin at 1:00 PM on Friday. A win will put them in the title game of the tournament at 1:00 PM on Saturday against the winner of the MSOE/North Park game – which kicks off at 3:30 PM on Friday afternoon.
