The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference handed out their "Players of the Week" awards on Monday and the Duhawks swept the Cross Country portion of the list.

Genna Kinley's 18:53 put her 54th overall at the National Catholic Championships hosted by University of Notre Dame. That time placed her inside the top 20 percent of the full field (272 runners) and the top 8 percent of the non-Division I field (181 runners). Among non-Division I runners, she placed 14th. The time was the seventh fastest on Loras College's list.

McDermott, a senior, placed 27th out of 255 runners at the National Catholic Championships hosted by University of Notre Dame. Clocking in at 25 minutes, 29 seconds, McDermott posted the best time among Division III runners and led the Duhawks to an 11th place finish overall, fourth among non-Division I programs and tops Division III entrants. By comparison, his time would have been sixth-best for team runner-up Marquette, or fourth-best for third-place finisher Dayton.

McDermott's efforts were enough to make him the overall IIAC Male Athlete of the Week as well.

Kinley and McDermott will lead the Duhawks at another NCAA Division I meet this Saturday morning. Loras will race at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota hosted by the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
